4 Tips to Make your Eco Friendly Resolutions Last All Year Long January 25, 2017 17:00
Do you have great intentions for being more eco friendly in 2017 but your motivation to uphold your New Years Resolutions is already dwindling?
Here are 4 ways to make your resolutions last all year long.
1 - Keep in mind the reason you made the resolution in the first place, and hold on to that. How? Keep a visual reminder (picture, object or word) around so that you don't forget.
2 - Understand what kind of person you are when it comes to changing habits. Gretchen Rubin has a great little quiz you can do to help you determine if you are an obliger, an upholder, a questioner or a rebel. Knowing what motivates you to do something will help you put strategies in place that make sense for you.
3 - Make your resolutions/changes small. It's better to start small and see success than to go big and fail. Make sure the change you're aiming for is realistic. You can always adjust your resolution when your initial change feels acquired.
4 - Track your progress! There are many ways to track your progress and you need to choose what works best for you. I personally love Habit Bull but there are tons of apps out there to help you track your progress- check out 24 of those options here.
Remember, change takes time, but always feels great. So *cheers* to a greener year!
